Security Innovation selects Kanda to assist with Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications Technology

Security Innovation, a leader in encryption and secure communications, has partnered with Kanda to build conformance testing procedure for Intelligent Transportation Systems sector. As an editor of IEEE 1609.2 standard for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications Security, Security Innovation relies on Kanda to develop a series of tests to set levels of conformity with the standard that addresses the implementation of the message authentication and user privacy during the exchange of data.

Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications (V2V) is a wireless anonymous exchange of data between nearby vehicles that aims to significantly improve safety. V2V communications enables vehicles to sense threats, calculate risks, issue warnings and advisories to help drivers avoid and mitigate potential accidents. V2V technology is anticipated to be a standard feature in cars by 2016.
