In 2014 the Front End development was Kanda’s fastest growing skillset fueled by our clients’ priorities.
Kanda blends together the skill and expertise to create beautiful, functional and user-focused interfaces. We let the purpose of the particular web or mobile application drive its design and user experience. Helping your Web or SaaS offering reach high user approval rates is the top priority for us.
Our engineers have more than just the skills necessary to code the UI intelligently – they have the passion necessary to code the intelligent UIs.
Kanda’s expert team of front end and UI developers bring beautiful web experience to life using a proven methodology and cutting-edge technology base to build customized responsive cross-browser, cross-platform websites and applications. Our front end, UX and UI teams see a page as a collection of assets and have high attention to detail and writing code in a modular fashion. They constantly analyze how the assets will be used on the page and how they might be used across the entire site.
We have optimized UX methodology to provide a well-balanced mix of control, visibility and flexibility. Our goal is to enable our clients to establish long-term relationships with their customers and other stakeholders by effectively increasing conversion rates, providing comprehensive navigation and predicting how clients will interact with the product or service.
How do we do it?
- We start with analyzing client business goals and target user groups;
- We study how users will interact with the website or web application in great detail and document user behavior scenarios;
- We integrate usability testing on each stage of development to avoid vital mistakes that can slow down front end development process.
A very important and largely unique component of many Kanda’s engagements is a “Clickable Prototype” – an implementation of much of the foreseen screens with transitions but without the underlying technical implementation. In our experience when people see the user flow, interactions and how pages are transformed they are much more likely to understand and provide constructive feedback on the product. Dry verbal descriptions or even wire-frames embedded in Word Documents have proven to be a less effective way to assess the solution UX flow.
The prototype also acts as a proof of concept that the technology stack chosen is capable of meeting the technical and business objectives. It is further used as a demonstration environment to familiarize various internal and/or external stakeholders with the proposed solution and solicit their feedback.

One of Kanda’s projects, Rescufy, has won a prestigious UPENN’s AppItUP 2014 challenge. Rescufy founders provided the idea and a dedicated Kanda team was responsible for the UX and UI app components as well as technical implementation. Rescufy is an eHealth mobile app aimed to simplify the standard anaphylaxis action plan for people with various allergies. With one touch of a button, mobile application sends critical information to 911 and emergency contacts. Rescufy sends such information as medical condition and history, contact information including geo-location, medication taken to the first responders and emergency contacts, so they can quickly reach in case when a patient is experiencing anaphylactic shock. There’s also an option of dialing 911 from the Lock Screen with a voice recording of the same information should the user be impaired by his/her condition.
RallyPoint is yet another example of the Kanda’s design capabilities and UX. 2012 Mass Challenge Diamond Award Winner has recently reached more than 500 000 active users and is called for the Military. The RallyPoint founders – two former US Army officers and graduates of Harvard Business School have approached Kanda after spending six months with a different services provider and having seen no tangible results there.
